The Ramnami Community is a unique spiritual and cultural tradition of Chhattisgarh, founded on the values of devotion, equality, and humanity. Established by Sant Parshuram Ramnami Ji, this tradition regards the sacred name “RamRam” as an inseparable part of life and identity.

About the Ramnami Community
A Living Symbol of Faith, Equality, and Cultural Heritage
The Ramnami Community is a unique spiritual and cultural tradition of Chhattisgarh, established in the late nineteenth century by Sant Parshuram Ramnami Ji. This movement is founded upon the principles of devotion, equality, self-respect, and social justice.
Followers of the Ramnami tradition carry the sacred name “Ram-Ram” on their bodies, garments, and in their daily lives, conveying the message that the Divine resides within every human being and that devotion belongs to all, regardless of caste, class, or social status. For us, “Ram” is not merely a name, but a symbol of equality, love, compassion, and humanity.
For generations, the Ramnami Community has preserved and carried forward its cultural heritage through RamRam bhajans, spiritual gatherings, folk traditions, and sacred teachings. Today, the community is recognized not only in Chhattisgarh but also as an invaluable cultural heritage of India.

Gurumata Setbai Ramnami
President
Gurumata Smt. Setbai Ramnami is the current President of the Ramnami Community of Chhattisgarh and a fourth-generation descendant of the tradition. Born in the village of Jwali in Janjgir-Champa district, she was raised in a devotional and agrarian family environment.
After her marriage into another Ramnami family, she embraced a life of spiritual dedication and renounced material ornaments, choosing instead to adorn herself with the sacred name of “Ramram.” Since then, she has devoted her life to preserving and promoting the values and traditions of the Ramnami Community. Her leadership, service, and commitment have played a significant role in strengthening the identity and recognition of the community, earning her the respect and affection of members who know her as “Gurumata Setbai Ramnami.”
Gularam Ramnami
General Secretary
Shri Gularam Ramnami currently serves as the General Secretary of the Ramnami
Community, Chhattisgarh. He was born in Chandlidiha village, now located in SarangarhBilaigarh district, and grew up in a humble farming family.
From an early age, he participated in devotional singing and agricultural work alongside his father, Late Shri Ramdas Ramnami. Through these experiences, he developed a deep understanding of Ramram devotion and community values.
Recognizing the universal spiritual message carried by the Ramnami tradition, he committed himself to sharing its cultural and devotional significance with people across India and around the world. His dedication to community service and cultural preservation continues to guide his work as General Secretary
Rambhagat Ramnami
Nakhsikh Ramnami
Shri Rambhagat Ramnami was born into a fourth-generation Ramnami family in Saraskela
village of present-day Sakti district, Chhattisgarh.
At the age of fifteen, he first had the sacred name “Ramram” inscribed on his body and began actively participating in devotional gatherings and community service. After many years of
devotion and spiritual practice, he embraced complete body inscription of the Ramram name and became a Full Nakhsikh Ramnami.
For decades, he has remained devoted to preserving and practicing the spiritual traditions of the community through service, devotion, and participation in Ramram Bhajan.
Tiharuram Ramnami
Senior Community Member
Shri Tiharuram Ramnami was born in Bhatgaon, Raipur district, and represents the third generation of the Ramnami tradition within his family.
Inspired by his father’s devotion and the sacred inscriptions on his body, he chose to have the Ramram name inscribed on his face and dedicated himself to the path of devotion and service.
He has actively participated in Ramram Bhajan and community activities throughout his life and currently resides at the Ramnami Community Centre in Chandlidiha, where he continues to support and guide younger generations.
Dhaniram Ramnami
Treasurer
Shri Dhaniram Ramnami was born in Chandlidiha village, now part of Sarangarh-Bilaigarh
district of Chhattisgarh.
Inspired by the service-oriented values of his father, Shri Ramray Ramnami, he developed a
deep sense of responsibility toward society and community welfare from a young age. At the
age of sixteen, he had the sacred Ramram name inscribed on his face and dedicated himself to a life of devotion and service.
Although he did not receive formal schooling, he possesses extensive knowledge of Hindi,
Sanskrit, and the Ramayana. He has served the community for many years as a traditional healer, providing free treatment and guidance to countless people.
Today, he serves as the Treasurer of the Ramnami Community and continues to contribute through his dedication and selfless service.

A woman named Nadia from Germany, who is a litterateur and photographer, has reached village Chandlidih (Bilaigarh), the center of Chhattisgarh Ramnami community, today to meet Ram-Ram people of Chhattisgarh Ramnami community. Let us tell you that for the past many years, people from all over the country and abroad have been coming to meet Ram-Ram people of Ramnami community and are willing to come further. Shri Gularam Ramnami, General Secretary of Chhattisgarh Ramnami community told that till date people from 26 countries have come to meet us, and are willing to come further. Nadiya told that she wanted to meet Ramnami Samaj for many years, which became possible today. When she met Ramnamiyo, there was no place for her happiness. She was very happy and said that I have never seen such devotion, love and respect till date. She got emotional after meeting Ramnamiyo. He told that he had many questions in his mind before coming here, but as soon as he met the Ramnami community, it was as if he got the answer to every question. When the people of Ramnami community asked her how she felt meeting the people of Ramnami community, she could not tell anything, she said that I have no words, this experience is invaluable. She said that after meeting Ramnami Samaj, I got peace of mind, I would like to come here again and again. His heart was not saying that he should leave here.

He was very happy to meet people from our community and told us that he has been following our Facebook page for many years and was very much looking forward to visiting us. But today it has become possible. He thanked the people of our community for taking out special time for him despite his busy schedule. He said that he would like to come again and would bring some of his friends along.
A world famous YouTuber from USA who has million of subscribers came to our community to make video on Ramnami and to understand our culture and civilization and to spread the country to the world. When we asked him that you have come so far away from America to India to know about our community. He told that he has reached hundreds of countries around the world and has done the work of spreading different civilizations and cultures to the world through videos. Is. And he wanted to make a small documentary video on our community but he was able to do it today. Got to know him very closely, he was fortunate enough to come to our community and the people of our community respected him very much. Then they returned after staying for 2 days.
Some students from Kolkata had reached village Chandildih, Bilaigarh, the center of our Ramnami community, to know about our Ramnami community. We took out special 2 days for them. They were very happy that we took out special time for them, Ramnami community which is their Gave him complete information about the subject. He told that we are studying on Ramnami Samaj right now, that society which is unique in the world should come to know about it, we want to do something for Ramnami Samaj, then They also have to go back to their residence and then leave for their homes after staying for 2 days.
